Diamond State Networks (DSN) is a wholesale broadband provider that unites the fiber-optic networks of electric cooperatives throughout Arkansas. Our mission is to catalyze the growth of high-speed connections throughout our state and to help make Arkansas the most significantly connected state in the country. Position Summary
Our NOC personnel are the best in the business, offering a high level of experience and vision. They are deeply experienced in transport design and operations, routing, switching, and they have a hunger for learning opportunities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in building and maintaining a best-in-class NOC environment
- Actively monitoring and responding to network alarms and perform fault testing.
- Provisioning, test and turn up functions for customer network circuits.
- Create and escalate trouble tickets according to NOC standards.
- Supporting, configuring, and validating DSN network devices: routers, transport, Layer 2/Layer 3 switches, and Network Interface Devices (NIDs)
- Assisting in executing Methods of Procedures (MOP’s) and relevant support documentation for equipment and services
- Accepts equipment and circuits into monitored status to ensure operational excellence.
- Application and implementation of Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) standards
- Outage reporting, troubleshooting, and resolution
- Mentoring and assisting other departments in technical topics
- Experience with JIRA or other ticketing systems
- Completes Reason for Outage (RFO) and incident reports
- Assist with Maintenance Window activities to perform network changes during off peak hours.
- On Call Rotation
Qualifications
The successful candidate should have knowledge of the telecom industry, operations, technologies and must be skilled in communications. The combination of education and experience should
- 1-3 years’ experience working within a technical support role.
- Hands-on operational experience with Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) systems, routing and switching methods and protocols.
- Experience within a 24/7/365 support environment
Desired Qualifications
- 2-5+ years in a network support role
- 1-3+ years of Network Operations experience
- Technical certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, ITIL, NRSI
